sean gordon murphy is an artist i’ve been following for a year or two. he counts sergio toppi, bill sienkiewicz and bill waterson as huge influences in his artistic development. and looking at his stuff you can see all of them playing around in his brush strokes. he’s pretty vocal about his love of traditional media, his seeming disdain for the digital-izing of comic art (my cintiq stained hands are shamed by that reality) and he’s a real nerd about carl sagan. he’s got a new creator owned book out called PUNK ROCK JESUS, which i’ve re-read a couple of times now and its bananas. click the link and read the review but trust me when i say it’s worth the buy.
i’ve never me the guy.
i’m not schilling for a friend.
just pointing random eyes at good stuff.
