Avatar: The Legend of Korra

This past spring one of the best things I got to do with an iTunes season pass was sit down on a Sunday evening and watch a banked episode or two of The Legend of Korra with the fam. As anyone familiar with the Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender knows the new series launched this year and has been wildly successful in its execution and with the fans.

The creators and production teams have created a living, breathing world populated by compelling characters. One of the creators, Bryan Konietzko, posts frequently enough on his tumblr site to give a glimpse into the production or his own thought processes. In a world where “The Art of…” books can run 30-40 bucks a pop, a free look and a running commentary from a successful tv show creator is an invaluable tool and limitless source of inspiration.

So if you’ve ever been curious about The Avatar series or just the professional creative mindset go check out his site and enjoy!

oh and as an added bonus here is a storyboard i found for the show done by Seung Eun Kim. he’s so good at action it makes me blush… i. am. shamed…
