Where does the time go?

I realize, at the very tail end of this meat-grinder of a year, that I never posted this year’s INKtober entries. I’ve updated the website and you can check it out here, or just watch the slideshow below.

The goal this year was to tell a story without words. Just a little spin on the challenge and hopefully something to collect and maybe print later. The Papercut Kids is suburban fantasy and colorful and poppy. I wanted to do something scratchier but adventurous. Joseph Campbell, Hero’s Journey kind of thing. I don’t know if it was the stark black and white, a contrarian impulse against the stuff that I had been working on, or if the over-whelming election news coverage had seeped into my subconscious (the 2016 Election in the States was viciously divisive, dear future readers).

I’m a bit under the weather as I write this and I’m listening to the new NIN album. The new NIN sounds like the old NIN (a good thing) and I’m having a hard time concentrating on this…

…BUT …

… I have the wherewithal to wish you all a Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Let’s put 2016 in our collective rearview and endeavor to make more art, better choices and the world a significantly better place.
